Heart Strings Music Studio offering something new for children from birth to age-5 – MUSIC TOGETHER®.
Music Together is an international early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through age 7—and the grownups who love them®. First offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement. In other words, Music Together facilitates music-making in families.
“Music learning is in many ways analogous to language learning; just as the child seems to teach himself language through interacting with a language environment, he teaches himself music through being in a music environment. When adults model active singing and movement behaviors, the child imitates and learns. The combination of classroom activities and at-home music-making inspired by a recording and songbook help children learn music skills naturally and effortlessly.” (For more information go to https://www.musictogether.com/prospective-parents )
Music Together has created nine non-sequential song collections forming a 3-year cycle taught in fall, winter and spring semesters. Shorter summer sessions are also offered using 3 other song collections. Music Together has headquarters (including a lab school) in Hopewell, NJ, near Princeton.
